Polidict 1.2.10: search in the tab bar, iPhone Duo and tablets

What’s new in Polidict 1.2.10 for iPhone, iPad and Android, and a short recap of the 1.2.0–1.2.6 updates you may have missed.

Polidict 1.2.10 is out for iPhone and iPad. Search now sits in the tab bar, the app works on iPhone Duo, and you can choose when your practice reminder arrives. Android testers get the same update, plus support for tablets.

We haven’t written about an app update in a while, so there’s a short recap of versions 1.2.0–1.2.6 at the end. The changelog now lists every change on every platform.

What’s new in Polidict 1.2.10

Search from the tab bar

Tap the search field at the bottom of the screen and type a word. Polidict shows its meaning, translation and examples, and tells you if it’s already in your words, groups or collections. The search field belongs to the Discover tab, so it’s always one tap away.

iPhone Duo

Polidict now supports iPhone Duo. Unfold it, and Library, Discover and your collections use the whole inner screen: the word list on one half, the word you opened on the other. The inner screen also rotates. On iPad, the same screens show the list and the word side by side.

Choose your reminder time

You decide when your daily practice reminder arrives. After a practice session, Polidict may ask whether you want reminders. Tap Pick another time to choose an hour that suits you. You can change it later in your profile.

Speaking practice without a microphone

If Polidict can’t use your microphone, speaking practice no longer stops. Say the word aloud, then tap I said it right or I got it wrong. With microphone access, Polidict still checks your pronunciation for you.

Collections in the right order

Ready-made collections now list their words in the right order, and each collection card shows the correct number of words.

Polidict 1.2.10 for Android

The Android app is still in closed testing on Google Play. Testers get the reminder time, speaking practice without a microphone and the collection fixes, plus:

  • Tablet support. Library, Discover and collections show your word list next to the word you opened.

  • AI lookups left today. Discover shows how many free AI lookups you have left.

  • Smoother animations when your progress changes.

  • A clearer message when email sign-in asks you to wait a moment.
